If you were to follow the previous editions of the DSO National Labs workshops and seminars, the students were eventually posted to an attachment programme where they can relate to their field of work and ultimately be a direct employee under the hood of DSTA’s skilled professionals. We didn’t have a chance to cover all the areas of expertise these students are attached to but here area few that we managed to visit.

The seminar/ workshop event was photographed on 3 separate days but the students had a total of 5 days altogether at the Singapore Science Centre. They were categorised into 2 separate groups, the IP1 for junior secondary school students and senior ones, IP2. These students came from various high profile schools to learn about Robotics and they were housed at the Robotics Learning Centre and Newton Room for IP1 and IP2 respectively.
I never had the chance to learn about robotics neither do I have the interest cos maybe that is why I am not a Star Wars fan but looking at the students working and learning intensely was really quite a joy. After the whole programme ended, I still had no clue what they’ve learnt but the mini inter-group-school competition at the final day along with the awards ceremony for participation and the winners seems to be great fun. Enjoy yourselves to the photographs I have captured (quite a handful, actually) and as usual, I have prepared a slideshow after the last static image of this entry. Just click the PLAY button and enjoy!
